Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 988

"I overheard Mr. Garcia saying that Flora might be up for an honorary professorship," someone whispered in disbelief. "Can you imagine? A freshman jumping straight to honorary professor. That's wild, but she's got the chops for it." "You must've misheard," Blake said, frowning in doubt. "Flora, a freshman, getting considered for an honorary professorship? That's just ridiculous."

The idea was hard to swallow.

Blake had spent years grinding as an assistant professor, hoping to climb the ladder to a full professorship. The thought of Flora, who wasn't even twenty yet, being offered an honorary role was insane. Was it Mr. Richard who'd lost his marbles, or was it Blake herself? Seeing Blake's skepticism, the teacher just shrugged it off, "You'll find out when they make the announcement in a couple of days."

Blake wasn't buying it, chuckling sarcastically to herself.

Over at the Golden Hotel.

Mr. Richard surveyed the bustling private dining room, almost speechless.

Flora sure had invited a crowd.

Jules showed up.

Dr. Ray and his entire medical lab crew were there.

Davina and Eilies got the call too.

With more than twenty people, the room was bursting at the seams.

"Order whatever you want, it's all on the house."

Flora passed the menus around.

She thought it was the perfect plan.

Ever since she'd returned from Lone Island, everyone wanted to take her out for a meal. Instead of juggling all those invites, she figured she'd gather everyone from the University of Maple Grove for one big bash.

"Flora, seriously, is everything free?" Jules asked, eyeing the price list, his heart racing at the thought. This meal could easily rack up a small fortune.

"Yep, don't worry about it, order away."

Flora reassured them with confidence. Why pay at Ray's place, after all?

Realizing it was indeed a free-for-all, Jules excitedly ordered all the gourmet dishes he'd usually avoid because of their high price.

He went all out, picking the finest dishes, chuckling to himself at the thought of a free meal...

Sitting next to Flora, Davina and Eilies were a bit nervous, witnessing such a big event for the first time.

They'd expected a simple dinner with Flora, but here were Mr. Richard, Dr. Jules, and Dr. Ray-big names whose influence could shake up Austenberg. They were in the presence of heavyweights.

They hesitated to dig in.

...

Meanwhile, on the other side.

After everyone placed their orders, the bill landed in Ray's hands.

Ray glanced at it, then burst into laughter.

"Flora, you really went all out this time."

A full table of top-tier dishes, totaling six million.

He snapped a picture of the bill and sent it to Connor.

"Your better half just hosted a feast, racking up a six-million bill."

Connor replied instantly.

"Send her some milk; all that food is too rich."

"Make sure it's warm; she's got a sensitive stomach."

"And throw in some sugar; she likes it sweet."

Ray: "..."

Great, now he had to add a bottle of milk to the tab.

He called the manager, sounding a bit annoyed, "Get someone to fetch fresh milk, warm it up, add sugar, and get it to Flora. That lady's got a delicate stomach!"

The manager brought in the milk, handing it to Flora.

Jules leaned in to get a whiff, "Hey, can I get some too?" Manager: "...Sure."

The Golden Hotel's food was truly delicious. At first, Mr. Richard and the others thought Jules had gone overboard with the orders, but with so many people, they ended up craving more.

Davina whispered to Flora, "Flora,

the finals are coming up. Are you net

taking them?"

"She doesn't need to," Mr. Richard chimed in for her.

"What? Why not?" Davina asked, intrigued. Skipping exams meant no grades, right?
