Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1452

"Hey, Jackson! Just spotted Fiona."noveldrama

Jackson's hand holding the glass hesitated for a split second, but then he casually took a sip, draining the whole glass with a cool demeanor.

"I checked on her. Looks like she's having dinner with some guy," Adam said, settling in next to Jackson. "Seems like you're losing your charm, man. I suggested you invite your sister for dinner, remember? But she ditched you for another guy's invitation."

Jackson's face stayed impassive. He set his glass down gently and turned to Adam, his voice low and hard to read. "Adam."

"What's up, Jackson?"

Adam straightened up, thinking Jackson might ask him to crash the date.

He was ready to step in!

"There's a project in Africa that needs someone. Put your current tasks on hold and make time to go." To Adam, this sounded like being told to prepare for a one-way trip to nowhere.

He nearly toppled off his chair.

"Seriously, Jackson? What's that about? I've been busting my hump and haven't ticked you off, right?" "And I just got injured, nearly kicked the bucket on the operating table. I'm still healing, and now you want to ship me off to Africa? Have a heart, man!"

Jackson's expression stayed icy. "You seem to have some free time; you could use the trip."

"Alright, alright, my bad, I'll zip it."

Adam wisely shut his mouth, fearing if he didn't, he'd end up on the next flight.

Was Jackson really upset? He just made a passing comment and it hit a nerve.

"Hey, Jackson, you're not actually into Fiona, are you?" Adam's heart did a little flip as he whispered, "Are you jealous?"

Though he often joked about the two, the thought of it actually happening made Adam uneasy.. "Come on, Jackson, there are foads of women out there. We don't need to be creeps, right?"

"Fiona's so young, not even of age yet. Let's teave her be, okay? If you're looking for a date, I've got

connections. I can introduce you to tons of women, whatever your type!"

Adam was getting carried away, almost ready to start scrolling through his phone for potential matches. But just then, Jackson's calm voice cut through: "She's of age."

Adam was floored.

He stared at Jackson, dumbfounded.

What?

What did Jackson just say?

What's he getting at?

"Does he mean she's fair game now, or is he saying he's above such thoughts?"

Adam was baffled.

Jackson walked out, pausing briefly to lean against the hallway wall, then straightened up and made his way to where Adam said Fiona was having dinner with the guy.
