Fiancé Uncle 284
Thea didn't even bother to notice the turmoil in Aiden's eyes. Now that she was done with her work, she had to deal with her personal matters.
Walking out of the venue, she held the contract and saw the Porsche from afar. "It's done!" Once she got into the car, Thea couldn't wait to share her excitement with Nicolas.
He rarely saw her smile from ear to ear and was genuinely happy for her. "This time, you're on your own. Thea, you did better than I thought."
Upon hearing this, Thea raised her chin. "And that's the woman besides Mr. Hendrix." The words slipped out of her mouth and she felt a little shy.
Before she could avoid his gaze, Nicolas held her in his palm. "You're the best." It was not easy to get a compliment from him.
Previously, Thea and Nicolas had discussed moving. His eyes were shining with eagerness. It was obvious that he wanted to put this matter on the agenda. However, Thea wanted to go home to discuss it with Joyce. Back in the apartment, it wasn't that big. This time, she could not find Joyce, so she went to knock on the door of the eighteenth floor.
Jamie opened the door with a stunned expression. He was not that familiar with Thea.
Thea usually knew the boundaries. Although Jamie had not confirmed his relationship with Joyce, she wouldn't directly look for him. "Is Joyce with you?"
She looked through the crack. The interior was simple but clean and bright. It was Jamie's style. But there was no sign of Joyce.
Jamie was confused. "She didn't go downstairs today. Is she missing?"
Joyce was unfamiliar with Silvercreek. She came here not just because she enjoyed staying with Thea. The main reason was that she wanted to avoid her family. She didn't even socialize much, so why would she go out alone? In an instant, Thea panicked.
Nicolas was by her side. "Maybe she's just going out to eat. Try calling her again. Maybe it will get through this time."
Thea took out her phone. It was rare for her hands to tremble. The call was still unconnected.
"I'll do my best to find Joyce." Jamie realized the severity of the matter, and his bright face was suddenly filled with solemnity.
Thea nodded, but her legs went weak. "Thank you. Don't worry, I won't sit idle."
While she was talking, she had already called all her shared friends with Joyce. Actually, they had not known each other for long. The good thing was that they relied on and regarded each other as an indispensable part of their lives. Even if Joyce chose to leave, she would definitely inform Thea. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
"This is my duty..." Jamie opened his mouth. "And I also want Joyce to be fine."
Jamie brought them to the police station. Along the way, only Nicolas could remain absolutely calm.
As a police officer, Jamie had the authority to check the surveillance cameras. The footage clearly showed that a group of men in black rushed into the house, tied Joyce, and took her away. Thea couldn't be more familiar with the head. It was Kelly. Chapter 284
"She's Joyce's mother after all. What does she want?" Thea could even see tears falling from the corners of Joyce's eyes. For a moment, her heart also twisted in pain.
The phone handed over by Nicolas resolved Thea's doubts. "Look at this. Perhaps we can find out."
It was the photoshopped picture of Joyce and Corey with pink babbles on it.
The headline was striking, describing it as a perfect match between the Maddox family and the Xander family.
Thea held her breath. "Joyce won't do this. They're forcing her!" She couldn't help but look at Jamie.
Standing beside Nicolas, Jamie looked like an adolescent, but he was especially focused and solemn. "Are you sure? She doesn't want it, right?"
Hatred could partly account for the reason why Corey was in such a hurry to facilitate this marriage. He wanted to take revenge on Thea. She was the one who had got Joyce implicated "As long as she's not willing, I have to save her." Jamie was resolute and sincere.
Thea was happy for her best friend to have such a loyal and reliable man. At the same time, she did not hesitate in action. She would definitely not let Joyce marry a man she did not like. On the way to Bangolware, Nicolas drove the entire way. "Thea, have a nap."
In the car, Thea's face was tense. She did not dare to relax at all. "I can't sleep."
She had a tiring day in the bidding and now her best friend had been taken away to an undesired marriage. But even so, she still had to hold on.
"You've got me here, so you can rest at ease... Mr. Maddox and I are friends. He should be willing to listen to me." Nicolas rarely had such a gentle expression as he patiently comforted her.
Around his gentle whispers, Thea finally dared to close her heavy eyelids.
Jamie sat in the back seat silently. This scene intensified his determination to save Joyce
When Joyce came out of the balcony that day, she was just wrapped in the bedsheets. Her disheveled but lively face instantly barged into his heart. Before he could confess, he found out that she was going to marry someone else. On the way to Bangolware, his heart had been tormented. He couldn't let it happen.
He drove all the way to the Maddox family without smoothly. The car stopped and Thea woke up.
"Jamie, wait in the car. We need to know more about what's going on and decide on our next move."
Thea was afraid that Jamie would get out of the car and make Kelly even more pissed. Joyce was still their hostage, so Thea did not plan to fight head-on.

"Thea." Opening the car door, Nicolas grabbed her wet palm tightly. "With me around, nothing will happen." He could always give her a great sense of security.
In the living room, Kelly had been waiting for a long time with Lily sitting beside her. Thea had no idea what they were talking about. They were laughing, but Joyce was nowhere to be seen.
Even as an outsider, Thea felt sad when she saw how intimate they were. They were both her daughters, but before Joyce, Kelly only showed schemes.
"Mrs. Maddox," Thea called out coldly. "I'm here to bring Joyce home."
Upon hearing this, Kelly's smile disappeared. When she looked up and saw the man's figure, she had no choice but to force a
smile
"This is Joyce's home. Where do you want to take her? She need to stay at home until the marriage comes. I don't allow her to fool around outside with some scoundrels anymore. This is what a mother should do, right?"
