Deadly Storm

Chapter thirty three

Sarah's POV

The outside world could be an amazing place if there wasn't a lot bad people, then again, we can't just live in harmony and peace. What the world has come now a days is just awful.

The snow is beginning to melt and only two weeks left before the Valentine's Day dance.

People are so excited for it, the girls are going out to the mall in the city to pick out a dress and deciding what to do with their hair, makeup and nails.

It's quite crazy that women would go to the extent to look nice for a one night event. It's not like they're getting married.

But I do know what it's like to go to these kind of things. It only may happen once or a couple times a year so no shame. I was once that girl.

So no shame to them.

I only stopped doing that after what happened last year, and it was my first one!

I'll still get dolled up but not as much, probably party clothes where kids wear to parties. I also might hang around with my friends. It's just a dance for couples anyways.

I can't wait since it's a night where I don't have to worry about anything. It's also on a Saturday which is good. We have all day to get ready.

That's only a couple weeks away, so we still have a lot of time left.

As I waltzed through the hallway as the posters of the dance are hanging on the walls as some students admire what it'll be like, especially the grade tens.

"Yo, Harper. Are you going to the dance with the dream guy?"

"What do you want Ramose?"

"So you don't have a guy of your dreams. Get all dolled up for a one night dance that you ladies love so much."

"No I don't have the guy of my dreams, also I'm not getting dolled up for one night. I'm going with my friends and wearing your casual high school party clothes."

"Oh so your not going then?"

"That's not what I said Ramose."

"Well that's what I heard, Harper."

"You, my guy, are so complicated."

"Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment."

"Are you going?" My curiosity got the best of me.

"No, I've got better things to do?"

"Like what?"

"Like, spending time at home drinking blood all night."

"Gross." I scrunch up nose in disgust.

"Blood is delicious."

"To you."

"Oh you're so right."

He smirked and I rolled my eyes. "Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to get to class."

I left him alone smirking like an idiot. Rounding a corner, I bumped into some random dude.

"Sorry," I mumbled before moving away.

"Wait."

I stopped and turned around. The guy I ran into is kind cute. He's slicked back blonde hair shined in the light. His plaid shirt And ripped blue jeans looks fabulous on him.

"Hey, aren't you Sarah Harper?"

"Yes?"

"You are an amazing person. I'm Jason Vanlee."

"Hi. Umm not to be rude but how do you know me?"

"Everyone knows you. Your the vampire hunter leaders daughter."

"Oh," I chuckle, "that's me."

"Hey, I was wondering, are you going to the dance?"

"Umm, kind of."

"Well, I was wondering if you'd like to go to the dance with me?"

"Umm . . ." I didn't know how to respond to this. What the hell should I say.

"I'll . . . I'll think about it."

"Okay." He took out a piece of paper with a pencil and wrote something on the wall.

"Here's my number. Call me for the answer."

I took it and nodded and blushed in the process. He smiled and wave goodbye as he turned on his heel and left. I waved even though he couldn't see me. Tucking the paper in my jean pocket, I left for class.

I still can't believe that guy asked me out to the dance. What do I say?

After what happened last year, should I trust him and say yes? I mean, not all guys are like that. I just don't want the same thing to happen like last year.

Like I said, I'll think about, even talk it out with my friends to see what they say. Of course, knowing them, they would probably say "oh go for it Sarah," or, "yes, say yes to him."

Getting into class, I sit in for math getting my homework out.

-

The end of class rolled around and I sat down at the cafeteria. My friends piled in and I start immediately with my encounter.

"So a guy asked me to the dance?"

"Who?" They said in unison.

"Jason Vanlee."

"And what did you say?" Sabe asks leaning forward.

"I said I'll think about it, and he gave me his number for me to respond."

"Oh my god you have to go," Lennix replies.

"That's the thing, I don't know if I should go. I don't want him to stand me up like the last guy."

"If he does, we're here for you and I will beat him up," Save threatened.

"I guess."

"C'mon. This will be a good chance for you. Get away from everything that happened this year. We'll be there if something happens," Kathrine comforted.

"Okay, I'll do it. But I'll call him tonight."

"So you got asked to the dance, huh?"

Blade Ramose and Keir Vance invites themselves to sit down at our table.

"Are you eaves dropping?" I ask. "Plus, where are the other two?"

"First off, no we're not eaves dropping. We just so happen to pass by when you mention that you got asked out. Second, they're off for a while," Keir exclaimed.

"So eaves dropping," I smirk.

"We're not!"

Then, they both go into shock of pain. Scurrying as best as they can to get rid of the belt and watch. Sabe and Lennix steps in to help them.

After getting them off, both boys pant.

"It's getting worse huh? More and more painful."

Blade nods.

"Do you guys have pain killers?"

"No, once we take it off, the stinging goes away. So it doesn't hurt afterwards."

"That's good," Lennix said.

"So, what do you guys want?" Kathrine asks sounding irritated.

"Well, nothing. We're just bored and don't know what to do. You guys are interesting so we decided to come to you," Blade replies.

"That's great. Well I hope you enjoyed your stay," I say smiling and waving them goodbye.

"You're rude," Keir stated.

"I know."

"Do tell us about this guy who asked you to the dance."

"Why would I tell you?"

"Because we want to know."

"Fine. I was walking down the hallway when I turn the corner and bam, walked straight into him. I said sorry and walked away when he stopped me. He knew who I was and asked me to the dance."

"Do you know this guy?"

"Blade, your telling her when you tell Nevada off."

"No I don't know him. That's why I don't know if I should or not."

"Who's the guy's name?"

"Jason Vanlee."

"Hmm. Are you sure you don't know him?"

"Yes, dad. I don't know him."

Blade shook his head.

"What?"

"Nothing. I just want to say, have fun with your date." He got up and left and Keir trailed behind him confused.

"What the hell was that about?" Sabe asks.

"I don't know."

-

Setting my bag on the couch, my dad comes from downstairs.

"Hey kiddo, how's school?"

"Boring."

"How was it boring?"

"It's school, dad. It's always boring. But I got asked to the dance."

"That's sweet, by who?"

"Jason Vanlee."

"Do you know this guy?"NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

"Yes dad. I know him."

"Okay."

I went up to do my homework, but before I could, I pulled out the number he gave me. Dialling his number, he picked up on the second ring.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Jason. It's Sarah."

"Hey Sarah. How are you?"

"I'm good and you?"

"Good."

"So I have my answer."

"Really, that was fast."

"Yeah. So my answer is yes, I'll go with you to the dance."

"I'm happy to hear. I'll meet you at the entrance of the school."

"Okay. See you then."

"See you."

Ending the call I worked on my homework.
