Chapter 2 I Am Just a Stranger
When hearing his words, Margery looked pale. She froze on spot immediately.
'Golden Barrett, I am your wife! You really hate me so much? You just stand by while I was pinned down by another man and you even mock me with harsh words?'

"Ms. Bryne looks so goddamn pretty and she has nice lips! How dare you say that she is a hag! Are you fucking blind?"
Mr. Chang turned around, feeling annoyed. When he noticed that it was Golden, the most powerful man in this city, who actually interrupted him, he was so shocked that he immediately let go of Margery and then stopped touching her. He zipped his pants and then smiled fawningly, "Mr. Barrett, are you here to see Ms. Bryne for business?"
Golden simply ignored him and then looked at Margery with cold eyes. He hated her for being seemingly indifferent. Then he said with emotionless voice, "I am just a stranger to see what happened."
'Just a stranger to see what happened? You just want to see me to be embarrassed!' Margery lowered her head to smooth her clothes and then let out a bitter smile.
When seeing that, Pansy was a bit stunned. She blinked her beautiful eyes and said softly, "Golden, I have been with you for three years and I have never met this lady named Ms. Bryne before. Could you introduce her to me?"
In her view, Golden had barely showed his emotion on his face. He always looked mysterious just like the deep ocean. No one could tell what he was thinking.
However, as acute as she was as an actress, she noticed that Golden was actually quite surprised a moment ago.
'Who is she?' Pansy thought to herself while she was grabbing her handbag much more tightly.
"She is nobody." While speaking, Golden stared at Margery with a bit of disdain, who was grooming herself.
"But I really want to know her right now." Pansy leaned into his arms and raised her delicate face while speaking coquettishly, "Golden, please…"
Her soft and prolonged voice seemed to stab into Margery's ears as if they were bleeding.
She immediately realized that Golden was never cruel to any women, except her.
Suddenly, she seemed to notice that Golden took a glimpse at her, where there hidden hatred and disdain. He got even closer to Pansy and then said with a fake smile, "She has nothing to do with us. Why not let her introduce herself?"
'You hate me so much that you even didn't want to mention about my name?' Margery tried to hold back the grievance surging up in her heart. She just stared at Golden, who was now hugging Pansy boldly. Then she smiled, "I am the wife of the most powerful man in this city. He is nice to me. He offers me everything including villa, limousine and a priceless treasure—my loving son!"
Suddenly, Golden seemed to get stiff a bit. He raised his head to glance at her casually, looking as cold as usual.
"You are Mrs. Barrett? Really?" Obviously, Pansy didn't believe what she was saying. So she said with a mocking tone.
Of course, the most powerful man in this city was none other than Golden Barrett!
However, he had never mentioned about his wife and son in public. So everyone deemed that he should still be single. How could it be possible that this awkward lady would be the wife of Golden?!
Margery looked at Golden. She smiled while facing his cold gaze. Then she turned to look at Pansy provocatively, "Miss Gibson, I was just joking."
Pansy was a bit stunned, but then she continued, "So who are you? What's your relationship with Golden?"
Suddenly, everyone present stared at Margery.
"Stop kidding me, Miss Gibson. I am a married woman. How could I have an affair with that guy?"
After saying that, Margery deemed it quite ridiculous. Actually, she was the legitimate wife of Golden. However, the real mistress, Pansy, was now questioning her.
At the thought of that, Margery couldn't help laughing.
However, she suddenly felt said while laughing.
Pansy suddenly looked sullen. She looked at Margery from head to toe. When she saw her embarrassed but beautiful face, she smiled with great disdain, "So where it's your husband? You have his permission to come to such a dirty place?"
"Miss Gibson, don't forget that you are now standing right inside such a dirty place."
Margery flung her hairs backward and then smiled elegantly, "Well, actually, my husband is now walking his dog."
Suddenly, Golden's face turned dark! He glared at Margery with greater hatred.
When noticing his abominable gaze, Margery felt a bang of pain in her heart.
The more she felt pain, the brighter her smile was, "Unfortunately, that is an annoying dog who barks whoever she meets! As a saying goes, a dog resembles the one who raised her. Am I right, Mr. Barrett?"
