Chasing The Rejected Luna's Heart (Clara and Liam)

Chapter 156

-CLARA-

I forgot how fun it was to spend the entire day with Damon. We didn't do anything extraordinary, we just stayed in each other's arms, enjoying each other's company and as much as I never wanted it to end, I knew Damon had responsibilities to take care of and I couldn't keep him locked up with me forever.

The next morning by the time I woke up, Damon was already gone. I let out a sigh as I tried not to be sad about it. Soon enough, all this was going to be over.NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

Since Damon didn't want me getting involved in training or pretty much Anything, I hardly had anything to do these days. Delilah couldn't even come keep me company because she also had to train.

I let out a sigh while laying on the bed, staring straight at the ceiling. What was I supposed to do with my life now? Maybe I should really get a hobby but definitely not painting.

Hours passed and I still didn't know what to do with myself. After a while, I decided to go down and be with everyone else. Even if I don't train there's no harm in watching them train.

I quickly had my bath and got dressed before going down to meet the rest. I glanced behind me and let out a sigh when I saw the amount of guards that were stationed to watch me.

"Can you at least try to stay hidden? I don't appreciate all of you breathing down my neck" I scolded but they all ignored me, not even a nod of acknowledgement.

I rolled my eyes and turned away, continuing my journey down to the training room. As soon as I got there, it was as if everyone felt my presence because they all stopped what they were doing and turned to me.

"Oh please, don't stop because of me. I'm just here to watch" I told them with a smile then turned to Damon as he walked towards me.

"Don't scold me please? I got really bored in the room and just needed some fresh air. I won't interfere, I'll just watch and..."

"Relax my love. It's okay if you want to stay and watch. I was about to send someone to get you. I've realized that I've been too harsh and strict with you when the safest you can be is next to me where I can keep my eyes on you" He murmured with a soft smile and I smiled back.

"So I can stay and watch?" I questioned and he nodded before taking my hand and leading me towards the bench at the side.

"Did you eat before you left the house? Don't you dare lie to me" He warned as he flashed me a stern look and I pouted.

"I'm not that hungry" I told him and he frowned.

"Are you sure you're okay? From all the books and research I did, you're supposed to always be hungry. Maybe we should go to the hospital and have you checked up" He explained with genuine concern on his face which made me chuckle.

"It's sweet that you're doing your research and most pregnant women do tend to always be hungry but not always being hungry isn't a sign that something is wrong or anything like that. Besides when I eat, I always eat a lot so it's okay. When I'm hungry, I'll eat" I assured him but he still had that worried look on his face.

"Still I'll have someone get you food just in case you get hungry later and please eat. Simon!" Damon called one guard before I could say anything and ordered him to get me food.

I just sighed and let him do whatever he wanted because that's the only way to calm him down.

After assuring that I was okay, Damon went back to training and despite him just being like 5 feet away from me, the guards were still stationed behind me.

At that moment, I couldn't even recall how it all happened. It happened so fast that my brain was unable to capture it.

Damon was running towards me

n

with a scared took in his eyes. His lips were moving but I couldn't hear a word he was saying till he stood in front of me and I heard several. shots being fired. Someone grabbed me but I didn't know who it was. All I could focus on was Damon who was laying on the ground with blood gushing out of his abdomen.

"Damon!" I screamed when I finally found my voice. Were we being attacked? What was going on?!

"Get her back into the house now!" Damon screamed as loud as he could.

"Let me go! Damon!" I screamed again and only then did I notice that Delilah was the one who was holding me down.

"We need to get you inside, Clara. Now!" She yelled as she dragged me away. I tried my best to fight against her as I reached for Damon but I only seemed to be moving farther away from him.

My eyes widened as I watched him slump on the ground lifeless. Luca and the rest were trying to get him to respond but he wasn't.

"Delilah please let me get to him, I'm begging you" I pleaded but she just ignored me and dragged me away till i couldn't see Damon anymore.

I stopped fighting as soon as I got into the house. My heart ached so badly that I could barely breathe.

"Stay in here till I come to get you. Damon will be fine, he has to be. You have to stay here if you want him to be fine," She told me.

"Delilah please let me be with Damon, please..." Before I could complete my sentence, she rushed out of the room, banging the door behind her. I tried opening it but she had locked the door from the outside.

“Let me out! Damon!” I screamed as I banged on the door with tears streaming down my face.

"I just want to make sure he's okay. Please" I pleaded before sliding down the door as I wailed bitterly.

I should have just stayed indoors. This was all my fault.

In a fit of anger, I reached for the vase behind me and threw it randomly at the wall only to see a piece of paper slide down from my shelf.

I stared at it for a while trying to remember what that was when it suddenly dawned on me. My uncle had left that letter in my luggage and I had told myself I was going to read it but must have forgotten in the process.

I immediately rushed towards it and read the letter as quickly as I could. Lycans and werewolves weren't known for using weapons to attack. If the attacker was the humans then I needed to speak to my uncle more than I thought I did.

I let out a loud sigh of relief as soon as I saw the number at the end of the letter. It had always been there. I have always had his number.

I immediately searched for my phone and dialed the number then waited as it rang. It didn't take long for my uncle to pick up.

"Lady bug, you finally called" My uncle's relieved voice suddenly came through and all I could feel at that moment was anger.

"If you and your group of hunters don't kill me first then better watch your back because I won't let anyone hurt my husband and go Scott free"...
