CEO’s Surrender With You I Can Never Win Chapter 16
A black Maybach pulled over on a street behind the hospital.
Bryan crossed his long legs and leaned on the back seat with leisure.
There was a tablet computer on his thigh.
On the screen of the tablet computer, Bryan watched what was happening in the hospital.
This was the hospital.
A mysterious figure walked into Nina’s office and shut the door.
Then, the visitor lifted her big hood to reveal an elegant and beautiful face.
Nina looked up, glanced at her visitor, and got up from her seat with a smile. “Finley, you’re here!”
Finley walked quickly to Nia and whispered, “Someone is tailing after me outside. Nina, let’s cut to the chase. Is there any new clue about my mother’s death?”
Nina and Finley’s mother were sisters. Also, Nina was one of the attending physicians of Finley’s
mother.
Nina always felt ashamed that she failed to save her sister back then. Therefore, Nina took care of Finley as she did to her own daughter.
Over the past years, she had been teaching Finley medicine in private.
Nina felt that the death of her sister was fishy. She told her niece her doubts after Finley grew up. Therefore, Finley and Nina kept investigating for the truth in the past years.
Nina looked at the expectant face of Finley and nodded slowly.
“Your mother didn’t die of tuberculosis. There was a deadly toxicant in the fragrance she smelled daily. The toxicity damaged her body gradually, bit by bit, and day by day. At last, she coughed and
became weak.”
Nina sighed slowly. “I forced this truth out of the medical examiner, who has fled for ten years after performing an autopsy on your mother. He said that the Keith family threatened him to lie. Later, he had to flee because his life was at risk.”
Finley clenched her fists with hatred in her eyes and said in a low voice, “We are right. Back then, my mom was strong but fell ill suddenly. The Keith family blamed me for the death of my mom and called me a jinx.”
“Finley.” Nina patted Finley on the back gently and comforted her, “Don’t be sad.”
Finley suppressed her hatred and anger, held back her tears, and said in a low voice, “I remember that Dirk lit a scented candle on the nightstand when my mom went to sleep. However, he left for the study with the excuse of work and didn’t go back to the room till the candle burned away. Not long after my morn died, he remarried Tina and brought his two daughters back to the Keith. famdy it seems that he had a plan!”
Nina looked at Finley with sympathy She wanted to say something but remained silent because she knew Finley needed an outlet
“That is why my mom asked me to keep a low profile before her death. She must know that the Keith family would maltreat me if I was outstanding How simple she is! I am still an eyesore in the
eye of the Keith family even if I pretend to be a good-for-nothing.”
Finley turned red in the eyes, and her chest violently heaved up and down in rage.
She looked straight ahead and curved her pale lips into a sinister smile.
Finley thought, “Dirk, that beast!
He killed his wife for his own interest! How cruel!
I will disown him since I know now he is the murderer of my mom!
I will make the Keith family pay the price for what they have done to my mom and me!”
Finley collected her thoughts and said to Nina, “Thank you for your persistence over these years. Thank you for telling me the truth. I have to leave now since there are tailers outside. If others ask you about me, tell them that I am your patient.”
With her hood and mask on, Finley left.
At the door, Finley felt several gazes.
“So, those tailers are still here.” Finley thought.
Finley curled her lips coldly.
Finley had got rid of those tailers several times, but they kept reappearing. It seemed their boss was determined to find Dr. Miracle.
“Who is so stubborn?” Finley wondered.NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
She lowered her head and covered her whole face with the brim of her hood. Finley walked to the elevator. When the tailers were still far behind, Finley suddenly pulled open the fire door next to her and rushed into the emergency access.
Soon, there came messy and rapid footsteps.
Finley watched those trailers running downstairs, and none of them noticed that their target was behind the fire door now.
Finley rubbed the tip of her nose proudly.
She was good at fleeing.
Finley walked back to take the elevator and planned to sneak away from the basement. When she was waiting for the elevator, footsteps sounded behind her back.
Then, Finley felt a big warm hand on her arm, turned around for a pull, and bumped into a warm
chest.
Finley cried out in surprise and tried to attack the hooligan in her imagination.
Looking up, Finley saw a cold and handsome face.
“Dearr
