Chapter 47: A New Beginning
Cindy went with Noman to the parking lot, pulled open the car door and the smell of perfume hit her, the kind of fruity scent a little girl would spray, Cindy froze before she sat in.
“Next time she gets you in trouble, you tell me directly and I’ll help you out.” Noman’s eyes were a little cold.
“It’s okay, I’ll dodge it next time.” Cindy put on her seat belt. Just in time, they were going to make a trip to the team together to check with Peter and the others about the next race.
Noman gave her a lustful look.
He stepped on the gas and went all the way west.
Just past the intersection, a figure stood on the side of the road and waved at them.
It was a very young girl, probably not yet twenty, she was carrying a designer handbag, showing that her family is well-off, and her eyes were fixed on Noman.
Even if Cindy’s reaction is slow, she understands now.
Noman came soon after receiving her call, he should be nearby, and would not come to the mall alone.
“Why don’t I take a taxi?” Cindy said.
Noman clutched the steering wheel and muttered, “No, just to deal with home.”
Cindy was about to say something else when the girl had come around to the side of their car.
Noman frowned and rolled down the window, “It’s the middle of the road, it’s dangerous.”
“I know, I just wanted to stop by and say hello, the driver will be here to pick me up soon.”
She smiled as bright as the sun, and waved her hand at Cindy, “Sister Cindy, wish you all the best for the next race as well, cheers!”
After saying that, she didn’t wait for Noman to lose her temper and left with a smile on her face.
The green light came on, Noman frowned, “Just a little girl.”
Cindy shook her head with a bitter smile and averted her eyes without further ado.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
The team had won the Red Flame Cup this time, considered a ‘dark horse’ making its debut on the race track this year.
But the Red Flame Cup and the Thunder Cup, as well as the Hays Cup, are all very famous car races in this country, and if they could get the Grand Slam, it would definitely improve the whole team’s record.
It would also allow Dark Horse to enter international races smoothly.
Peter gathered everyone together this time to strengthen teamwork, “I plan to go into the mountains next Monday for closed training, do you have any comments?”
The riders need to strengthen their physical fitness, while the rest of the team needs to be rider-centered to enhance cohesion and tacit understanding.
“I won’t go.”
All along, Cindy has been verbally cooperating with the team, she just needs to be Noman’s co-driver when she races.
Noman felt a little regretful and immediately pulled Cindy a little, “The team pays for the funding, you don’t have to worry about the money.”
Cindy shook her head, “It’s not about the money, I found a job, so if it’s not a race, I might not be able to come over.”
“You got a job?” Noman was even more surprised than she was.
Cindy hummed, and the next second, the person was already dragged out by Noman.
“Where’s the job? When will you start?” Noman asked anxiously.
Cindy laughed, “Why are you more excited than me? But this company does deserve your excitement. Listen up, I’m going to MON as a design intern.”
Noman raised an eyebrow, “That’s fine! How did you get mixed in?”
“I’m not telling you, I’m going to report tomorrow, and I won’t know the details until then.”
Cindy thought about it, and looked forward to it a little.
She hadn’t felt this way for a long time, life had really been dark for her for too long.
The next morning, Cindy wore a simple jeans white T and arrived at the MON building downstairs very early.
The entire first floor is a glass window displaying every famous designer’s debut designs, the most expensive one has shot up to hundreds of millions of dollars.
MON receptionist looked at Cindy’s resume and hesitated for a moment, “Come with me, you’re the person our director Baker wants by name.”
Director Baker?
Cindy thought to herself, “Maybe this is the person Ryan is looking for.
They took the elevator, all the way to the office on the sub-top floor, a row of luxurious golden jewelry ornaments, setting off the whole company’s style.
“It’s right in front, go in yourself.” The employee handed her a name tag with her picture already printed on it, “Inside is the senior management area, we can’t go in.”
So harsh to protect the design rights?
Cindy took it, and before she could thank him, the employee had already walked away.
She took a deep breath, crossed her card, and stepped inside.
She waited in front of the office for a long time and didn’t see the director. Only after half an hour did she receive a phone call, asking her to report to the third floor.
By the time she got there, all twenty interns had arrived, and apparently she was deemed the late one.
Cindy openly met the pointing eyes and apologized to the person in charge in front of her, “I just found the wrong office and I’m late, sorry.”
The person in charge was named Anna, a short, fat woman.
She raised an eyebrow and hummed, “Everyone is already here, waiting for you alone, you should apologize to them.”
Many of the interns were already giving her unkind looks, Cindy still apologized very sincerely, “It was my mistake, I’m sorry.”
“She is that Cindy? Miller Group’s …”
“Yes, that’s her! I really do not know how she mixed in, MON selection of interns has always been very strict, I prepared in advance for more than six months.”
“Come on, even if she is a down and out noblewoman, she is still better than us, she must be relying on that kind of relationship.”
These voices, not too soft, not too heavy, the whole room can hear very clearly.
Cindy just listened, like a wooden person, without any reaction.
Anna was a little surprised at her reaction, and waved her hand resentfully, “Okay, pay attention next time.”
Obviously, Cindy’s reaction of not making a scene and not getting angry didn’t make her see a good show, and she was a little dissatisfied.
Cindy stood directly to the end of the first row.
She was here to survive in New York, not to please anyone, and what’s more, this Anna was supposed to be just a small head.
Anna cleared her throat, “Okay, everyone is here, this is the assignment sheet for each department you are going to intern in, read it all and go report.”
As the sheet was posted on the whiteboard at the front, everyone except Cindy gathered around.
Immediately afterwards, she saw all those people looking back at themselves, showing a weird look of sympathy.
“Cindy, you’ve been assigned to Director Baker’s group, what good luck.”
From this voice, Cindy could not hear any congratulations.
Cindy was familiar with the way to go outside; the office was still empty.
The director of Baker was not in the company at all, it was someone in the company who was screwing her.
The first day of work, she was fooled.
