Bonds of the Alpha Billionaire (Maya and Alex)

Chapter 161

-Maya's POV-

I lunged at Miranda, my body a blur of motion. Every muscle in my body screamed with exertion as I closed the distance between us. My claws extended, sharp and deadly, ready to inflict pain. She met my charge with a feral growl, her eyes glinting with a mix of rage and fear.

We collided with a force that shook the very foundation of the building. Our bodies were a whirlwind of claws and teeth, each strike an evidence of our hate for each other. I felt her claws rake across my back, but the pain was a distant sensation, a mere inconvenience. My focus was singular, to overpower her, to beat the crap out of her.

I drove her back, my strength undeniable. She stumbled, but regained her footing with surprising agility. Our battle raged on, a brutal dance of survival. We circled each other, our eyes locked in a deadly duel. With a roar that echoed through the room, I launched myself at her again.

Our bodies collided with a sickening thud, sending us crashing to the ground. We wrestled for dominance, our limbs intertwined in a desperate struggle. I bit down on her shoulder, my teeth sinking deep into her flesh. She let out a painful howl, but her grip on me tightened.

We rolled across the floor, a tangle of limbs and fur. The air was thick with the scent of blood and sweat, the taste of iron filling my mouth. I could feel my strength waning, but I refused to give in. With a final surge of power, I managed to break free from her grasp. I stood over her, panting heavily, my body aching. She lay on the ground, her body still, her eyes closed. I hesitated, unsure if she was merely injured or if I had dealt the fatal blow.

But then, her eyes snapped open, a flicker of defiance burning in them. She lunged at me, her movements surprisingly swift for someone so badly injured. I was caught off guard, her claws raking across my chest. Pain shot through me, but I refused to show weakness.

We circled each other, our bodies heavy with exhaustion, the air thick with the scent of blood and sweat. The battle had taken its toll on both of us, but neither of us was willing to yield. With a final, desperate surge of energy, I launched myself at her, my claws outstretched slamming her into the ground. The world was a blur of motion, a cacophony of snarls and growls. I could feel my strength waning, but the thought of defeat spurred me on. I had to win this.

With a final, desperate lunge, I struck out, my claws finding their mark She howled in pain, her body crumpling to the ground, the impact forcing her to shift to her human form and I stood over her, my breath coming in ragged gasps. I could kill her one, with one single bite to her neck but I was not a murderer. As I shifted back into human form, the world around me came back into focus. The battle was still raging, the air thick with the sounds of conflict. But in this moment, I focused on Miranda, her defeated form lying at my feet.

She struggled to her knees, her face a mask of pain and humiliation. "Even when you won, you still remain pathetic," she spat out, her voice filled with bitterness, "And I will never understand what they all see in you. Alex. Ivan. Why does everyone pick you?"

I ignored her taunt, my attention focused on the chaos unfolding around me. I needed to find Alex, to make sure he was okay. "I didn't ask for any of this, Miranda," I said, my voice filled with weariness. "And I am not special. I'm as fucked up as anyone else and I have made so many mistakes."

Her eyes, filled with a mix of anger and sadness, met mine. "Then why? Ivan pretends like you mean anything to him but I see the way his jaw ticks whenever you are mentioned. Why does everyone want you?"

I shook my head, unable to find the words. The truth was, I didn't know the answer. I was just trying to survive, to protect the people I loved and if I didn't know how manipulative and bitter Miranda was, I would have actually thought she was hurt by it. I let out a sigh really not having time for this conversation.

"I hate you, Amaya," she spat, her voice breaking. "I hate that it has always been you."

For the first time, I saw it. Just how truly broken and lonely she was. I saw the endless pain in her eyes as tears flowed from her eyes.

"I really hope you find someone who picks you one day, Miranda," I whispered softly.

She looked away, tears streaming down her face. "I hate you," she repeated, her voice barely a whisper. I turned away, my heart heavy. I knew I could never truly understand the pain and anger that consumed her. But at that moment, I felt a strange sense of empathy, a connection to this woman who had become my enemy. She started screaming behind me, calling me a coward and telling me to come and finish what I started. That was when I realized she wanted it to end. She wanted to die. I shook my head. I was not going to be the one responsible for it. I just kept walking, feeling my wolf speeding up the healing process, and then suddenly, I felt a presence behind me.

I turned around to dodge whatever was coming at me, but my wolf took charge as my claws extended to block the impact. Just as I felt the hit coming, I slashed Miranda right on the neck. Her eyes widened in shock, and I mirrored the look as she fell to the ground, holding her neck, blood gushing out. I immediately followed suit, trying to help her. I had not meant to strike her there. She just kept backing away, screaming, "Don't

touch me."

"Miranda, stop, please. You are bleeding out," I shouted back at her, but she kept scrambling back. She looked so pitiful. Despite her struggles, I

forced myself on her and did something I never thought I would do. I wrapped my arms around her, tightening her in a hug, and her blood poured all over me. She knew it. I knew it. She would not heal fast enough from that spot, and I really had not meant for it to happen. She tried to struggle still, but I tightened my hold until she just started crying in my arms while more blood poured out, coating us both. "It is going to be okay," I whispered, tears falling from my eyes. "It is going to be okay, I promise." The lie stung my lips, and I held her until the crying stopped and her body stopped moving. I closed my eyes, tears spilling down my cheeks. I just stayed there for a while, holding her in death, hoping she would finally find peace. Then I slowly placed her on the ground. I stared at her now-empty eyes and tear- streaked face, and with a sigh, I closed her eyes.

I looked around, my heart heavy with what had just happened. The battle was still raging, but in this small moment, it felt like time had stopped. I could hear the distant sounds of fighting, growls, and cries, but they seemed far away. All I could focus on was Miranda's lifeless body in front of

1. me.

I wiped the blood from my hands, feeling the stickiness on my bare skin. It was everywhere, a grim reminder of the violence and loss. I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself, but the scent of blood and death was overwhelming. I needed to move, to get back to the fight, but my legs felt like lead.noveldrama

Finally, I stood up, my body aching. I looked down Miranda one last time. She had been my enemy, but in the end, she was just another victim of this endless cycle of violence. I hoped she had found some peace, wherever she was now.

"I really wish things could have been different. Goodbye, Miranda."

With one last look at her still body, I turned around and ran. I didn't stop, moving through the chaos,

through the fallen bodies to the man that I was going stab with fork when this was all over for drugging

me.

I ran to find the man I loved endlessly.
