Beverly

Chapter 11

Beverly Carington

I parked the car and then walked into the seaworld alone. I bought the ticket and walked in. I took the map of the place and started to stroll around by myself. Actually, I never have time to go to places like this because I’m damn busy.

I think 1 year is enough for me to rest and start enjoying my life a little bit. Just like what Becca said.

I strolled the entire seaworld and couldn’t get any happier. I love this place and really the best place for me to heal myself physically and psychologically. After that, I decided to go to Malibu beach. I have loved that place since yesterday… I decided to go there again.

Not bad to stroll around alone, sometimes you need time for yourself right?

“How’s LA?” Becca asked.

“Not bad.”

“So you’re with Clyde?”

“Nope… I’m alone.” I said as I sat down on the sand. I looked around and found a lot of people enjoying the sunset.

“Alone? Where’s Clyde?”

“He’s meeting with his friends.”

“Did he treat you good?” I laughed at her question.

“What? Did I say something wrong?” She asked confusedly.

“I’m nobody, he treated me badly. I mean not that bad but… just bad.”

“How’s his family?”

“They’re all very heartwarming.” I said and Becca turned silent.

“You okay?”

“Yeah, I guess so… I just need to act for another 364 days and then I’m done.” I sighed.

“Find a cute guy… have a date or something.”

“I’m not interested, I really don’t want to date anyone.” I said and she sighed.

“What?” I asked.

“Your life is so boring… so you don’t want to get married one day?” She asked.

“No. I don’t want it. If I do, one day I will get divorce anyway. Guys who like me are jerks and all they want from me is sex.” I said as I looked at my nails.

“I mean you’re right but I bet there’s a good guy out there. Guys are jerks but there are good guys too.”

“I don’t want to fall in love, Becca. I don’t care if everyone mocks me about it but I don’t want to fall in love.” I said.

“I know.”

“I’ll talk to you later… I just want to enjoy the moment.” I said.

“Have fun and just… let it flow.” She said and I ended the call. I looked at the sea and closed my eyes.

“How come a beautiful girl like you sit alone?” Someone said and I just showed me my ring so he can leave me alone. I opened my eyes and set my eyes to the sea.

“You’re engaged.” He stated and I turned to him.

“Good boy.” I said flatly and he laughed. I rolled my eyes because there’s nothing funny about my statement.

“Why are you here alone? Regretting your relationship?”

“I’m getting married next year so… no. I’m not regretting anything.” I said and he chuckled.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“I’m Finn.” He said.

“My name is can-you-get-lost.” I said to him coldly and he chuckled again.

“Your fiance must be a lucky guy.” He stated and I ignored him. I kept looking at the sea and sighed a few times.

“Why are you still here?” I asked.

“I don’t know. You looked lonely… so I just want to stay here beside you.” He said and I stayed silent. My phone rang and it’s Clyde. I picked it up.

“Hello.”

“Where are you?” He asked.

“Malibu beach.”

“Call me once you’re done… I’m still hanging out with my friends.” He said.

“I will.”

“Okay.” He said and I ended the call.

“Your fiance?”

“Yup.” I answered. I got up and took a picture of the sunset. I smiled looking at the photos. It’s so beautiful. I walked back towards the car that I rent and got inside. I put my GPS on and drove away from the beach.

I drove back to the renting place and returned the car key. I decided to call Clyde because I’m tired and I just want to chill or go back home… not home… I mean Clyde’s house here.

“You’re done?”

“I just returned the car back.”

“Do you see starbucks right across the street? I’m there.” He said and I ended the call. I crossed the street and walked inside the starbucks. I saw Clyde waving his hand and I walked towards him. He’s with his 2 friends.

“Beverly, this is my best friend Ricky and Pierre. Guys, this is Beverly.” Clyde introduced me to his friends.

“Hi.” I smiled a little as I sat down beside Clyde.

“Hey, so you’re Clyde’s fake fiance for the whole year.”

“Yeah.” I nodded looking at him without any expression.

“If he’s rude to you or he turns into a jerk… just punch him.” Pierre said.

“Clyde is always nice to everyone and he’s a gentlemen, right?” Ricky asked and I raised my eyebrows.

“He’s the opposite.” I answered.

“Babe… don’t be like that.” Clyde put his arm around my shoulder and I pushed it away.

“They know that we’re fake, why bother touching me here?” I asked him in a cold tone. His friends teased him and Clyde looked at me in disbelief.

“Are you two sure that you two won’t fall in love? I mean… a year being with each other. Aren’t you two going to be attached with each other?” Ricky asked and Pierre smirked looking at us. We both looked at each other.

“No.” We both said in unison.

“So you’re still not over Anna?” Ricky asked and I don’t even interested in this Anna girl. I don’t care if he has a lot of girlfriends in the past.

“I’m over her but I still want to be alone. I’m not ready to settle down yet… maybe in 2 or 3 years…” Clyde answered.

“I don’t think you two will last in a year.”

“Well that’s good bec-”

“The contract.” Ricky cut me and that made me raise my eyebrows.

“Here he goes again with his predictions.” Clyde laughed but Ricky looked at me seriously.

“I’ll wait for your wedding invitation.” He smirked.
