EPISODE THIRTEEN
THEME: The She-wolf
BLACK MOON PACK
(Avery’s Point of view)
FEW WEEKS LATER
“Can you do me a favor?” The she-wolf I just met recently uttered with a pitiful look on her face.
I nodded. “Yes, how may I help you?” I asked.
Slowly, she started towards me. “I want you to be far away from this pack.” The she-wolf said.
I furrowed my eyebrows immediately trying to comprehend her words. “What do you mean?” I asked.
The she-wolf stopped walking, a sly grin displayed on her face. “Is it hard to grant such a favor?” She asked.
“Would you grant such a favor if you were in my place?” I questioned in return.
This she-wolf wanted me out of this pack where I was meant to rule as a Luna.
She sneered at my questions instead of giving me an answer. “Then I have no choice.” She muttered.
“I am leaving.” I said, and turned away from her.
“I am carrying his child.” The she-wolf words stopped me on track.
“Kayden,” she added quickly and I turned to face her.
The she-wolf smirked, a smug look on her face.”We are together.” she placed her hand on her belly, making a circular movement.
I didn’t want to believe her words but my wolf believed her. She had a stronger sense and instincts than her owner. I bet that my wolf could tell another wolf’s mind. My wolf never liked this she-wolf when our mate introduced her to us. The she-wolf was a head nurse at the infirmary and she seemed pretty close to Kayden.
When I tried to ask him about her, he said they both grew up together and she was his best friend. To top it all, my insecurities set in when Kayden said she was yet to find her mate. I didn’t like the idea of my mate getting closer or being besties with another she-wolf.
The she-wolf words rang in my head. She was carrying my mate’a child. Perhaps this is the reason why my wolf disapprove of me being friends with her.
“What should I do?” I asked my wolf but she seemed silent. It was unusual of my wolf to be this calm. I expected my wolf to be furious.
“I love Kayden. And I want our child to be born into this world. So this is why I am asking you to move far away from this pack.” The she-wolf said.
“What?!” My jaw dropped slightly. How can she be so bold enough to approach me and spill this trash?
“You never wanted this life right? All you desire is getting a degree. But I want a life with Kayden. Even though he is not my destined mate, I still want him because I love him and can’t wait forever.” The she-wolf said with a serious look on her face.
My wolf was heartbroken because our mate has mated with another she-wolf. She was too weak to react which made me even more powerless. I had all the chance to sleep with several men at college but deep down in my heart I wanted my mate to be my first when I am ready for the mating bond. I had kept myself for my mate and my wolf liked my decision.
But why is it not the same way with my mate? The answer wasn’t far fetched – the world has changed.
I have heard and seen cases of single wolves having sex with mated wolves. In my own perspective it was wrong but maybe to other wolves it wasn’t bad.
“I don’t care.” I heard myself say out loudly.All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
“What?” The she-wolf was confused.
“I.. I.. don’t care if you are carrying his child. Kayden is mine! He is my mate! So I won’t let him go to you!” I snapped at her as tears streamed down my face.
The she-wolf expression hardened. “I am his mate and you’ll only be his mistress! I’ll nurse your child!” I spat angrily.
My words got to her because a vein popped out of her neck. She was trying to control her wolf while I was trying to awaken my own wolf.
I understand that my wolf was hurt but I didn’t expect her to leave me hanging this way. My eyes did a slow crawl on the she-wolf and it widened in shock. She had a knife in her hand.
“It won’t be a bad idea to get rid of you. Kayden won’t feel your absence that much since you guys haven’t completed the mating bond.” She started towards me.
I began to move backwards as terror overtook my face. My back came up against a tree and I felt trapped. All of a sudden, I felt the excruciating pain in my stomach. She just stabbed me.
“I’ll be his Luna and not a mistress!” She grimaced in anger as the knife drilled deeper into my stomach.
I tried to hold her hands but my body burnt badly. And realization hit me after my wolf slipped into unconsciousness. She poisoned my wolf with a silver knife to get rid of me knowing that I was nothing without my wolf.
I coughed out blood and saw Kayden behind her. He wasn’t surprised neither did he try to stop her. My body dropped to the ground with a thud.
“Kay…den..” I coughed again.
Is it just an apprehension or he had intended to watch the she-wolf murder his mate?
“Goodbye…Avery!” The she-wolf said followed by a devious laughter that echoed in my ears and back to reality.
