A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 910: The Bad Person

“Auntie… thank you, I’ll wait a bit.” Ayaan felt aggrieved, but he didn’t hang up. As long as he didn’t jump into a pit, no one could trap him!

Hmph! Ayaan was very smart!

“Ayaan… don’t you understand? Your dad and I are busy, so don’t wait.”

“By the way, is your mom okay? Please tell her to rest well. Your dad will take good care of me.”Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Ayaan’s voice was soft and delicate, “Auntie, you said too much, I can’t remember it all.”

“Hehe, I mean hang up the phone and don’t bother Brendon! You little dummy!”

The call ended.

Ayaan felt very wronged, but he wouldn’t give up like this. He kept calling Brendon.

He called every minute.

Shannon looked at the incessant calls and was about to go mad! Shannon deliberately spilled water on Brendon’s pants, so Brendon went to change his clothes.

While observing, Shannon deleted the incoming calls. But the phone kept ringing; he would find out sooner or later.

Shannon looked at the water cup on the table, smirked, and gently knocked it over.

“What are you doing?” At that moment, Brendon suddenly appeared. The man was still in light-colored home clothes with a round neck, and matching pants. Except for his arms, he was fully covered.

Shannon immediately explained weakly, “Brendon, I didn’t mean to… it was an accident…”

Brendon first grabbed his phone and tried to wipe off the water with a tissue, but there was too much water. Some had already seeped in, and the phone flickered a few times before shutting down!

Brendon frowned.

“Brendon, I’m really sorry! I didn’t mean it! I really didn’t mean it… I accidentally knocked over the cup… I’ll compensate you!”

Shannon’s eyes turned red with pity.

Brendon felt very irritated.

Ranita had left in anger, Shannon had spilled water on his pants, and now she had ruined his phone… He didn’t know what Shannon was trying to do!

“Shannon, it’s late. You should go home!” Brendon said, urging her to leave.

Shannon felt even more wronged, “But… it’s so dark outside, it’s not safe for me alone.”

“Then have your assistant come pick you up.” After a pause, Brendon added, “If your assistant can’t make it, I can send someone to take you home.”

His words left no room for refusal.

Shannon bit her lip, feeling very indignant.

“Brendon… are you really so heartless? I… know I was wrong, but I really didn’t mean it! I’ll compensate for Ranita’s dress and your phone.”

Mentioning Ranita made Brendon even angrier.

His face darkened, and his voice carried a warning tone, “Shannon, don’t do this again.”

“Otherwise, we won’t have any contact in the future.”

Brendon always meant what he said.

Shannon looked at Brendon in shock, feeling like a heavy stone was pressing on her chest. Tears fell as she said aggrievedly, “Brendon, we’ve known each other for so many years… You broke off our engagement for her and forgot your promises to me… Brendon… I’m trying to accept it, I’m slowly accepting it. At least we can still be friends.”

“But why can’t you even agree to such a simple request?”

Brendon’s head throbbed with pain.

Shannon’s words sounded nice, but everything she did crossed the line.

Brendon couldn’t tolerate it any longer.
