A Love Reawakened The Alpha’s Regret

CHAPTER 154

BOOK CHAPTER 21

Harriette’s POV

When Alpha Rowan mentioned the name of the pack, I was confused at first. What was he talking about? What pack was that?

I kept silent so as not to say something that would get me into trouble.

Tm guessing you don’t even remember, right? Or maybe you have no clue as usual,” he asked with a smirk. He was mocking me. I could hear the mockery in his voice.

He suddenly gave me a paper and I opened it. It contained the statement I gave along with Ella when we first came to the pack. I swallowed hard as my heart beat fast. I held the paper tightly trying not to show how scared I was.

Alpha Rowan watched me like a hawk about to steal a chick from the mother hen.

“Yes, that’s my pack,” I lied again.

Alpha Rowan moved closer to me. Before I could move away, he grabbed my arm and pulled me closer.

“You Are, A. Fucking. Liar, he whispered into my ear.

My teeth suddenly clashed against each other and my breath ceased. Not only was I affected by his scent and closeness but I also knew I was in deep trouble. Something was going on

“Tm not lying about anything.” I insisted.

He chuckled. “I knew you were gonna do that. If there’s one thing I’ve noticed about you. Harriette is the fact that you can even lie about the weather of the day. The same weather we’re all experiencing” he spat.

A deep frown creased his brow, darkening his expression and I froze. I couldn’t say a word. I suddenly felt bad for lying to him but there was no way I could tell the truth.

Want to start with the crocodile tears, I’m guessing, he pointed at my face. I didn’t even know I was that close to tears.

I blinked, trying to force myself not to cry. Why did I always act like a brainless fowl whenever I was around Alpha Rowan? My brain would be on the other side of my head and the tears always came too fast too.

“If I take this issue the right way I’m supposed to, it’ll only show my pack members how incompetent my men are, so, I’ll be the smart one and give you two options, Harriette,”

He said.

I hate when I’m given options. I get confused as to which to choose between them. “What are they?” I asked.

“First, you have twenty–four hours to come to me and tell me who you are, where you’re from, and why you’re here. Two, if you don’t do that in the next twenty–four hours, for the safety of the pack members. I’ll secretly throw you into a prison for the fucking rest of your life, and believe me, you’ll rot in there till all that’s left are bones. What do you say, Harriette”

I became scared. His threats weren’t gentle and it showed that he would do whatever it was he said he would do. “I don’t.”

He placed his fingers on my lips suddenly. “You have twenty–four hours, Harriette. I don’t want to hear anything from you now. Twenty–four hours!” He repeated. “One minute more, you’ll understand why I’m called the rogue god.”

I wanted to open my mouth and lie again but I couldn’t. The way he stared into my eyes was as if he stared into my soul and he read me like an open book. Alpha Rowan turned and walked away.

I folded my hands across my chest. Tears threatened to spill down my eyes but I managed to stop them. The world around me seemed to have stopped moving.

I looked back to see Commander Mika and Galeon staring at me with a deep frown on their faces Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

Clupter 151

“Is everything okay, Harriette? Commander Mika yelled so I could hear her since she was far away from me. I nodded lightly and gave her a fake smile.

Quickly, I went looking for Ella. Since I knew she would be in the kitchen, I didn’t stop at the room, I went straight to the kitchen. I soon found her. She was busy chopping off some vegetables while laughing along with some other women.

She looked happy, li appeared as though those women loved her.

“Ella!” I called. She turned to look at me. Typical Ella would have asked me what I was doing there but I guess from the look on my face she knew there was fire on the mountain. She excused herself and came to me.

I held her hand and pulled her to a corner.

“What’s wrong?” She quickly asked after she looked around and saw that no one was there.

“We have to leave,”

I told her.

“Have you done it?” She asked, referring to the mission.

I shook my head. “We’ve been caught” I answered.

Ella’s eyes went wide and she quickly covered her mouth with her hand before she could scream.

“How? When? What? Who?” She asked all at once without taking a breath.

*Alpha Rowan found us out but I don’t know how. I don’t know Ella. I’ve never been this scared in my life, I confessed.

I was scared of two things. Number one thing was that I was scared of going back to Mother without carrying out the mission. successfully. She would look at me with disgust, disappointment, and embarrassment and never trust me with anything again. I could become an outcast in the pack for it. The second thing was I couldn’t lie to Rowan again. My heart might not be able to take it. Even if I did, and he found out again that it was a lie, I’d end up in that prison he told me about.

“What do we do, Harriette? I’m also scared,

“We have to leave,” I repeated.

“Tonight?” She asked.

I nodded. “I know two routes we could take to leave,”

“When?She asked me.

“Midnight, I answered.

She nodded. Ella suddenly grabbed my shoulder and told me. “Take a deep breath,” I frowned. She frowned back and I was forced to do it.

“Take another one,” she asked me again. I did.

“Good. You look better now, take your time to do whatever you are supposed to do today. Don’t make it look suspicious that something is up, alright?”

Ella could read me like an open book. I was so worried about a lot of things.

“See you soon,”

We bid goodbye just as we separated.

I returned to my room to take a shower. I met some bags in the room upon my arrival. When I checked them, they w the day I went shopping with Thorne. How did they end up here? Didn’t they crash in the accident?

Thissed at my own stupid thoughts.

Inside the bag was a note, it read: I believe these are yours. Remember, you have twenty–four hours

were from

11:12 AM

What the… I groaned. It was Alpha Rowan. Was he so desperate for an answer? Or was he deriving joy from making me

miserable?

After I took a shower, Commander Mika sent someone to bring me to the painting room. I made up an excuse about being weak. The person returned. I was thinking Commander Mika would return at any time to kick the door open and drag me out of the room but she never did.

Ella soon returned back to the room and hand in hand, we waited for midnight. Immediately, the clock struck twelve, we stood up, gently opened our door, and walked out of the building.

As we got to an intersection, I told Ella, “You go this way, I’ll go that way. Both roads lead to the same escape point at the border. We have just two to three minutes to get there without being found out,”

“Why can’t we take the same route?” She asked, holding onto my hand.

I had to forcefully break my hand free from her. “So that we don’t draw unnecessary attention to ourselves. We have less than three minutes now,” I told her, “Go!”

I walked away and I looked back to see Ella going in her direction.

All of a sudden, I heard heavy footsteps behind me. I broke into a run and I didn’t dare stop running. As I got close to the borders I couldn’t see Ella anywhere around.

Out of nowhere, a hand grabbed me. I fought back for freedom but somehow, he was stronger.
