The mysterious identity
The line went silent after she narrated her experience to Gary. She heard a shuffling on the other side, followed by the sobbing voice of a young child. She could hear Gary walk away from the phone to calm the sobbing child before coming back to the call.
“I’m sorry for the distraction, I had to attend to something” he apologised calmly.
“It’s fine, are you babysitting? Do you need me to call back later?” Lily asked curiously.
“There won’t be a need for that. They are my younger siblings and I’m in charge of them,” he replied.
“Oh. So what do you say, would you like to meet him?” She asked, going back to the main topic.
“I don’t want to have anything to do with him or his family,” he replied. “You can tell him that there is no need to look for me, I know him and I don’t want to have anything to do with him, he doesn’t have to look for me or anything like that,” he explained.
“Okay. I will let him know!” Lily replied casually, despite her nagging curiosity, she knew it wasn’t in her place to ask.
“You are curious, aren’t you?” Gary asked, seeing she wasn’t asking questions and she was not ending the call.
“Was it obvious?” She asked and Gary chuckled.
“It was”
“Then I’m curious. What’s the story, you know him and he doesn’t know you?” Lily asked and Gary groaned. “You don’t have to tell if you don’t want to!” Lily assured and Gary shook his head on the other side of the phone.
“His father was married to my mother. He already had a wife at that time but my mother was unaware. After she had us, he took him away and left me with my mother. He broke up all relations with us while threatening my mother. That’s the story” Gary explained.
Lily felt dumbfounded at the story. “Your mum told you?” She asked curiously.
“Yeah, two years ago on her death bed after she asked him for help to treat her sickness and he refused. That’s what happened, so I don’t want to see him” Gary explained.
Lily’s heart felt heavy as she heard his story. “I know it’s more complicated than you are putting it and even then I can feel the gravity of the damage done but you have to know that Light is innocent in all this though, until I accused him of being you, he did not know you existed and when he found out he might have a brother he wanted to meet you,” Lily argued.
“I know, but I don’t want to have anything to do with that man and his family and I think it should be left that way, getting involved with that celebrity will bring unnecessary drama I have three other siblings and I’m happy being with them,” Gary explained and Lily sighed, trying not to push the guys too much she reluctantly agreed.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
“Alright then, I’ll let him know. Thank you for telling me your story” Lily appreciated.
“Thank you for asking for my opinion it means a lot to me,”
“I should always look after the well-being of my employees, so how is it going with the page Alana is helping you develop?” Lily asked with a chuckle.
“She told you that?” Gary asked in surprise and Lily hummed, “I’m not sure how we should go about a bit now though, having you out their weight causes a scandal for both you and Light” Lily mused.
“I already thought about it actually” Gary breathed out, “I just didn’t know how to tell you back then, I need the extra cash and that’s why I took the job. But then I realised it might cause you some trouble. How about you design a mask? We can go with the mysterious identity” Gary suggested and Lily laughed.
“Is it funny?”
“No, it’s not funny, I’m just amused that I managed to gather people like myself under me, the nationals we are going for, Alana would be wearing a mask due to some personal issues, then we can make the most of our identity, I’ll get one designed for you. And you are free to stop using it anytime” Lily assured.
“You should never hide your identity for anyone’s sake. You deserve to be known just as much as he is known, but to avoid people misunderstanding you, let’s get you to the top before we do a face reveal, yeah?”

“He said that?” Light asked as he asked Lily about the outcome of her conversation with Gary the following day over breakfast.
“Yes” Lily replied and Light frowned.
“Did he tell you the reason? Why does he not want to meet me?” He asked, feeling disappointed but also a little more curious about the other him.
“It’s not in my place to tell even if he did tell me. You should ask your father if he wants you to meet him or something, it’s your family matter and I am a stranger I can’t just start asking questions, you know?” Lily reasoned and Light nodded in understanding.
“Anyway, I would like to have your measurements so I can get your outfit designed for the garden party outfit,” she said, immediately changing the topic as she saw the others walking into the dining room.
As he noticed the others, Light also dropped the topic and continued eating.
“Do you have an outfit in mind for the hint given?” Celina asked, immediately her butt hitting the chair, “I do have something in mind, but I’m not entirely sure yet until I put it on a drawing” Lily explained.
“I checked some of your pictures online and for Celina, you look better in a short dress for casual wear, so I’m going with that concept, it is going to be above the knee length with a halter neck, short sleeves and mild pleats. The fabric pattern is going to flower with catchy colours but not too bright” Lily explained while casually making a doodle of the dress on the booklet she had with her
“I like the concept” Cain chipped in as he joined their table, “How about you add a waistband to bring out the pleats more, having it like that will make it look casual but classy” he advised and Lily immediately made another doodle of the dress, this time with a band right below the bust line.
“Well this looks better, thank you!” She smiled and Cain winked. “Alright, the female dress is done, what concept do you have for Light”
“Since it’s casual, he’ll have a floral patterned shirt, plain khaki pants, suspenders and then a cowboy hat? I think it will go well with the vintage design we have for Celina.” She explained. “Not only that, I think he would look good in a suspender since he’s never won one, but just in case we can also prepare a jacket if we have the extra time” She added.
Cain gave Light a look over and nodded, “It will look good on him. We can pair it with a loafer that matches the jacket or the shirt” he added. “And the sunglasses That’s important”
“Is that okay with you two?” Lily asked. “More than okay, your attention to details is mind-blowing.” Light voiced with a chuckle and Celina let up a thumbs up unable to speak with a mouthful of food.
“Then that’s settled. How do we get the Fabrics and things needed?” Lily asked.
“After the design approval tomorrow, you’ll be given access to the fabric store. You should go with Avon for the fabrics since he’d be the one sewing” Cain advised.
“Alright, it’s settled then, I’ll get the design ready and then let you all see, if there would be a need for some changes to be made”
