Chapter 957
"Relax, man. If you're willing to help me out, I'll go all in, even if it costs me everything."
The man chuckled, clearly pleased with Antonio's enthusiasm.
He was about to leave when Antonio, unable to contain his gratitude, followed him like a loyal butler.
As the man stepped through the doorway, he looked out at the night sky and left Antonio with a parting thought. "Enjoy these days of power while you can."
Antonio didn't quite get his drift, thinking it was a congratulation. He nodded eagerly, his face glowing with joy.
"I will, I'll keep pushing on!"
The man gave a knowing smile, his eyes a dark abyss, impenetrable.
Once the man had left, Antonio clenched his fists. He returned to the living room to look over the share transfer document again.
He had done it, he truly had. Dorsey International was his now.
A smirk spread across his face as he kicked over the coffee table, pacing around the room. The elation was so overwhelming that he felt as if he were walking on air, as though he had entered paradise.
But then he remembered the task the man had just entrusted to him. He needed to get on it, pronto!
The man had said he would help, so he would surely get in touch, right?
All Antonio had to do was wait. Probably by tomorrow, he could make his move.
Little did Antonio know, the man would act so swiftly.
It was already nine in the evening when Aubree stepped out of Stellar Stage Entertainment, worn out from the day's work.
Brielle hadn't been around lately, but that didn't stop Aubree from making her presence felt.
She knew Brielle was pregnant and unwell, yet it was comforting to see that Stellar Stage Entertainment was still running smoothly without her.
Keiran's new movie had started filming, and even though Chase was constantly buzzing around like an annoying fly, it didn't hinder Keiran's performance as the star actor.
Word from the set was that Keiran nailed almost every scene on the first take.
A smile touched Aubree's cheeks as
she thought of her own recent success. The movie she co-starred in with Ricardo was smashing box office records daily, surpassing half a billion, with their fanbase growing by the second.
Heavy is the head that wears the crown, they say.
Aubree had set her sights on her future goals, and in the meantime, she was fervently honing her skills with an acting coach before diving into her next film.
Both she and Ricardo were natural talents, easily slipping into their emotions, but they still had room to improve on the basics.
Every day, Aubree practiced until this late hour. The backbreaking schedule was starting to wear her down.
Yet, with Brielle's support, she was happy, eager to become Stellar Stage Entertainment's golden goose.
As Aubree exited the building, she saw a familiar car waiting and felt an unwelcome irritation.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
Didn't Andrew have a job? Why was he always free to wait for her here?
She couldn't hold back any longer and strode forward, but as the car window rolled down, Andrew was nowhere to be seen. It caught her off guard.
A stranger sat in the driver's seat, polite enough.
"Miss Clements, the lady of the house requests your presence," he said.
The "lady of the house" referred to Andrew's mother.
Aubree wondered why she suddenly wanted to see her. Was it to arrange a match for Andrew to keep her away from him?
After all, that woman had given her a
significant number of shares. Aubree had learned her lesson about the harsh realities of life in this world, nothing was more important than money.
She nodded, curious about Andrew's whereabouts but feeling it improper to ask.
After all, this was Marissa's driver, and if Marissa had sent for her, she likely didn't want Aubree getting too close to Andrew.
Besides, the car was Andrew's, so he probably had gone ahead to the Clements family estate after getting the word.
Without suspicion, she got into the car.
The scent inside was comforting, and given her recent exhaustion, she leaned against the window and soon drifted off to sleep.
As she closed her eyes, the
fragrance in the car intensified, lulling her into a deeper slumber. Even if someone called her name right next to her, she wouldn't stir.
Swn?
