Chapter 75
Every time Dominick saw Lola’s beautiful and clean eyes, he felt reassured about his past decisions.
“Change it.” Dominick’s tone was gentle, in stark contrast to his stern face.
Lola had a good impression of Dominick. He was handsome, and he liked gardenias as she did.
“What a coincidence. You’re here too,” Lola smiled slightly.
It had been a long time since he had seen such a bright smile on Lola’s face as if she were back to being a young girl.
Dominick smiled along with her, his hostility diminishing.
“Yeah, what a coincidence.”
“But why don’t you let me wear this dress? Isn’t this dress nice?” Lola looked at him, puzzled.
She wondered if this dress was really that bad. Why did Dominick ask her to change as soon as he entered?
Dominick glanced at the dozen or so dresses hanging on the rack.
Finally, he picked a similar–colored dress, but with sleeves.
“Wear this.”
Lola was even more puzzled. Clearly, the sleeveless one she had just chosen was nicer than the one Dominick was holding.
“Why? What’s wrong with this one?”
With others around, Dominick found it hard to explain. He took the dress from Lola’s arms and handed her the one he held.
“Go change.”
Dominick gently nudged Lola’s back, guiding her into the dressing room.
Previously, Dominick always seemed a bit strange to Lola. Those eyes of his, though they should have been cold, seemed to hold too much meaning whenever he looked at her.
Lola looked at the dress in her arms. It was similar to the one she had picked before but with slightly old–fashioned long sleeves.
But Lola didn’t really care about what dresses she wore as long as they were acceptable. She wasn’t particularly fond of this welcoming party
anyway.
Slowly, Lola took off her clothes and glanced at herself in the mirror.
In an instant, she froze.
On the girl’s arms reflected in the mirror, there were dense scars varying in shades of pink and purple, obviously not all from the same time!
Lola slowly looked down, filled with disbelief.
These frightening scars were actually on her delicate arms!
How was this possible?
For the past few days since waking up, she had been well taken care of in every aspect of her life, from basic needs to entertainment to minor
things like washing her face and getting dressed, all taken care of by special maids.
So she never had the chance to see her own body.
Lola’s hands gradually tightened. She thought no wonder despite the heat these past few days, she was still arranged to wear long sleeves.
Suddenly, Lola felt dizzy, and the strength in her legs began to fade.
She leaned against the wall for a while, waiting for the dizziness to pass, before slowly opening her eyes.
This wasn’t the first time she had suddenly felt dizzy. It seemed that whenever she tried to ponder over these things, she would have such a
reaction.
With so many scars on her hands, and not all at the same time, she thought either she had been locked up, or she had done it herself.
Once this thought popped into her mind, it was uncontrollable.
A chill spread gradually from her back to her body, and Lola’s arms began to tremble uncontrollably.
The possibility of being locked up wasn’t very high.
Judging by the scars on her arms, she noticed they were all on the inside. Cutting this place would have been almost impossible if others had
hurt her.
She thought she was a princess. If she had fainted, she should have been well taken care of, so how could she have been bullied?
So the possibility of her inflicting the wounds herself seemed more likely.
Layla, who had always appeared glamorous, actually had such terrified arms….
She remembered her mother said many people would come today, and if they saw her arms, they would probably make fun of her.
By the next day, news about her would be everywhere.
So many questions gave Lola a headache.
The sales clerk’s strange questions, coupled with her scarred arms, puzzled Lola more and more, making her increasingly fearful.
But she had been trained since childhood. The more dangerous the situation, the calmer she needed to be.
She felt if they took her for a fool, she might as well pretend not to know anything, and maybe then she could find out something.
Lola worked hard to suppress all her unease, slowly steadying herself and putting on the dress.
Surprisingly, this dress fit perfectly. She wondered how Dominick knew her size.
And though the dress didn’t look pretty, wearing it felt like putting on a whole new dress!

She seemed to be glamorous. Her smooth face could be described as fresh as a daisy.
Lola’s gaze unconsciously fell on her arm. The length of this sleeve just happened to cover the scars on her arms perfectly!
She pondered how could this be so coincidental.
Dominick…

Lola’s eyes widened slightly, and she suddenly realized something. Her breath was starting to become heavy.
With just one glance at Dominick, she felt inexplicably strange.
This time too, she thought Dominick had never seen the scars on her arm, so why insist on her wearing long sleeves?
And this sleeve could perfectly conceal the scars on her arms. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
She wondered who exactly he was and why he was inexplicably helping her.
By doing this, her arm scars wouldn’t be discovered, and she wouldn’t be ridiculed.
“Ms. Lewis, have you changed your dress?” Tina asked gently.
Lola snapped out of her thoughts, hiding all the strange emotions, and walked out with a calm expression.
“Yes, I’m ready.”
Tina was pleasantly surprised. “Ms. Lewis, you’re like a fairy! This dress looks so good on you!”
Lola’s gaze fell on the man sitting on the sofa behind Tina.
He seemed to have anticipated it long ago with a faint smile happily.
“It’s very beautiful.”
Lola pressed her lips, wanting to say something but hesitating, yet seemingly wary of something. She didn’t speak again.
“It’s getting late. Let’s go.” Although Tina didn’t know Dominick, she heard he was Ethan’s friend, so she wasn’t so wary.
“Okay.”
Lola concealed her doubts and suspicions, feeling worried about how to face her parents later.
“Come over here.”
A low and pleasant male voice came from beside her as Dominick gently opened the car door.
Lola was slightly stunned. “Me? But I have my car.”
He thought her bewildered look was more adorable than her previously gloomy expression.
“Yeah, come here.”
