Chapter 79
Gina.
I subconsciously looked around the room as if searching to see if I could get a glimpse of my mother and Selene, but the room was devoid of their presence.
It was hard to believe that what just happened was nothing but a dream because it felt so real.
Derrick and Devon noticed my apprehension and they both exchanged concerned glances.
“Hey, are you alright? Devon asked me with concern in his voice.
“Yeah,” I answered, while instinctively still looking around.
“There is a problem,” Derrick said after I sat up to keep an eye level with them.
“What is it?” I questioned, as my heart sank at the mention of the word, problem.
“It’s Denver,” he said with a deep sigh.
“What about him?” I questioned, trying hard to ignore the way my heart swirled at the mention of his name.
Denver said countless mean things to me the last time I visited him at the hospital. Even though it has been two days, his words still hurt me deeply.
Despite my stupid heart trying to make up excuses for him as to why he behaved the way he did, I can’t help but feel bad.
I get the whole feeling of him losing his wolf, but, I too have lost something in the past couple of weeks.
I have just come to learn that the life I knew and the people I thought were my parents happened to be all a lie.
I have to live with the fact that whenever someone mentions Lucas Amel, the only thing I can think of is how badly he treated me and wanted me dead, even before I was born.
We are all not having it as rosy as it seems, and if someone makes out time to comfort and share your burden with you, you should appreciate that.
I was so pissed with him that I didn’t bother to go to the hospital when Derrick told me earlier that they were going to pick him up.
“I don’t think he meant to say all those things he said to you, I spoke with him, and he seems to have a lot of pain. He feels he has let you down by losing his wolf. Honestly, I am not sure presently what he thinks he wants. But, if I had known anything about him since early childhood, I would say that he loves you. The problem now is that he is thinking of,”
“Taking you out,” Denver, who had suddenly just appeared at the door, said.
Every eye instinctively went to the door to see him standing at the entrance of the room.
“Hello mate,” he said with a snarky attitude, as soon as my eyes landed on him before a dark chuckle lighted up his face.
“What are you doing here,” Devon questioned his brother, as soon as he noticed my not-so-pleased face.
“I came as we agreed, for us to take our beautiful mate out for dinner, and then I will pretend to be happy with her, just like we planned,” Denver said in a not-so-polite manner, and his snarky attitude got me pissed.
Who the f**k does he think he is?
My eyes instinctively went to Derrick as if asking him to confirm if what Denver had just said was true.
But, he was looking as confused as me, angrily I turned to Denver.
“Get out,” I heard myself say to him.
He and every other person in the room seemed shocked at my words.
“What did you say?” He questioned, dimming his eyes, which I would have said were sexy if I wasn’t so pissed.
“I said, get out of my room,” I repeated, staring at him straight in the eye.
“Gina, please, can you just calm down a little,” Derrick was saying when I abruptly caught him off.
“I would rather not see him, at least not now,” I said to Derrick.
Denver’s eyes pooled with rage as he cast a final look at me before leaving the room.
“Gina, what is happening, I thought this is what you wanted, for us all to be together,” Devon said.
“What is the use of forcing a horse to the stream when it is going to refuse to drink from the water,” I questioned him, with little or no anger in my voice.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“Gina, please give him some time,” Derrick was saying when I cut him off in his words.
“I will not allow him to treat and speak with me disrespectfully. I truly understand what he is going through. I am yet to get my wolf, and I understand what it feels it. But that doesn’t mean I have to hate the world and everything else. I will only forgive him if he apologizes for the way he spoke to me at the hospital, else, perhaps we were never meant to be a mate.” I said.
*****
Denver.
I slammed my door shut as soon as I entered my room, I was as angry as f**k.
Despite telling myself that I shouldn’t be angry since making Gina hate me was top on my to-do list, it didn’t help my course as I found myself in an uncontrollable rage.
She has no right to ask me to leave her room, she is f*****g mine, mine to love, protect and do as I deem fit.
Can’t she f*****g see that I am doing all this because of her, I f*****g love her, and she had to tell me to leave her room?
After a few minutes of aimlessly roaming my room, I crashed on my bed tiredly, and just then, my both brothers walked in.
“You are hurting her, and I know that is not what you want, you need to apologize to her,” Derrick calmly said to me.
She asked me to get out of her room, I said, as if reliving her voice up in my head.
“She was angry, and seriously, you both are putting us in a very dicey situation. You are our brother, and she is our mate, you both need to find a common ground to make peace. The war is over, we shouldn’t be fighting within ourselves,” Devon said.
“So, what do you guys suggest I do?” I said it more of a statement than a question.
“You can start by apologizing to her and reassuring her of your undying affection,” Devon said.
“What if she doesn’t listen?” I questioned.
“You know she will listen,” Derrick said.
after lingering a while, I got up from the bed and slowly walked back toward Gina’s room. In a few seconds, I was standing by the door.
After taking in a deep breath, I knocked on her door before entering her room, and I was instantly welcomed by her sweet scent.
I walked in to see her lying on the bed, she didn’t bother turning around to see who was there, but I could tell she knew I was the one.
I slowly worked to her bedside and contemplated how to begin my apology. Slowly I got on my knees and rested lightly on the space beside her.
Being so close and alone with her made me allow myself to bask in her lovely scent and the warmth eluding her body.
“What do you want?” She questioned in a cold voice that is my heart a little.
I came to apologize to you, to tell you that I am sorry and that if I have wronged you, you should please forgive me. I love you, Gina very much. It just hurts me to see that I might never become that perfect mate for you,”
“And who told said you are not perfect, and who told you, you are incapable of loving and being loved by someone, simply because of one bad thing that happened,” she questioned, getting up to sit in the bed.
“I love you Gina, I do love you, it’s just that, I wish things weren’t like this, I said to her
“Simply because things didn’t work the way we expected doesn’t mean that everything else has gone bad. As your mate, my responsibility is to stand by you at all times in helping achieve your dreams. But my success greatly depends on how far you let me help you, I should be able to provide the necessary attention that you need at all times. And I don’t want you to think you know what is best for me, I am very well capable of doing that by myself,” she said, and I could help but agree with her by nodding my head.
“I am sorry,” I said
“I am too, I shouldn’t have hit you, there is no excuse for being violent,” she said with a warm innocent smile.
seeing her like this makes me wonder how is she able easily switch from being a lioness to being a gentle lamb.
“Honestly, I think I deserved that,” I said to her as I slowly lifted my eyes to stare into her beautiful eyes.
“I missed you,” I told her.
She smiled at me, “I am delighted you did because I missed you too,” she said, as her cheeks turned a little rosy.
