"Don't worry, Dad." Atlas nodded earnestly, then put his arm around my shoulder. "Let's go."

My father squeezed my hand tightly, his eyes filled with reluctance. "I'll be waiting for you to return."

I nodded. "We'll be back soon."

But deep down in my heart, I knew that we wouldn't return so soon.
